Cholera is an acute diarrhoeal disease usually associated with poverty, poor sanitation and inadequate access to clean drinking water. For most travellers, the risk of acquiring cholera can be reduced by following advice on food and water hygiene and by ensuring good personal hygiene.

Dukoral – an oral (drink), inactivated cholera vaccine.
– From 2 years, 2 doses required, 1-6 weeks apart, £75 for both doses.
Vaxchora – an oral, (drink), live cholera vaccine.
– From 2 years, 1 dose required, £50 per dose
